Anyone else feel this way? Homes are going for about $238,300 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Would love some local perspective. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Baltimore it's better than expected.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
