OK so I'm a college student here and Average temperature is around 70--F, so it's warm year-round. Median household income is $75,245, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,350 for rent here. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I wrong here? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Austin about 10 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The walkability is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is excellent in most areas.
