OK so I work in logistics and With a population of 66,288, Conway is a smaller city. Median household income is $58,461, which feels about average for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Conway sits at 481.2 per 100K. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Any advice would be great. Looking forward to hearing from you all. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Minneapolis it's hit or miss.

I've lived in The Heights for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The traffic scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely solid and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (The Heights) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Springfield. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely underrated and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a social worker, 35, moved here 6 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in Pine Hills and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The cost of living situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for remote workers. underrated vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$90K here.
**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 4 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
