Moving to Cookeville with kids -good idea?

So, I'm a 27-year-old teacher and Crime rate is something to consider -Cookeville sits at 352.0 per 100K. Rent is about $885/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $885 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Pine Hills area are underrated. Kids love it here.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much reasonable but now it's challenging.
