Coolidge is underrated, change my mind

With a population of 15,300, Coolidge is a small town. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Would love some local perspective. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Miami about 4 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 49, moved here 9 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in Midtown and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The nightlife situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for retirees. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 2 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I work in legal here and it exceeded my expectations. The job market for my field is better than expected. Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.
