Hey, It's a a smaller city city with about 63,348 people. Median household income is $86,618, which feels pretty solid for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. What do you all think? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Dallas about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is average.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in construction. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Thai.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The outdoor recreation is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2015 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much affordable but now it's tough.

I'm a nurse and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is solid and there's always something going on.
