What Coon Rapids does better than anywhere else

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a teacher here and The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Coon Rapids sits at 83.5 per 100K. Homes are going for about $287,200 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Diverse community
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- High property taxes
- Lack of diversity
- Not enough green space

There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.
