Is it worth buying in Cooper City?

Been living here since 2019. Homes are going for about $555,800 on average. You can expect to pay around $2,392 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Should I be concerned? The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The housing market is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Atlanta about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is average.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in tech. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
