Remote worker thinking about Cooper City

Hey folks, Crime rate is something to consider -Cooper City sits at 70.5 per 100K. Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Seattle about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Uptown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
