Moving to Coppell -what should I know?

Born and raised here. The median home value here is around $525,300, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What would you do? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
