Pros and cons of Coppell after 7 years

So, I'm single, late 20s, and Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $139,227, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $525,300, which is pretty steep. Crime rate is something to consider -Coppell sits at 59.3 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Good schools
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Far from major airports
- Chain restaurants dominate
What do you all think? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Chicago about 2 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is average.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
