Job market in Copperas Cove for tech?

Hi all, I'm single, late 50s, and Household incomes average around $68,900 in Copperas Cove. Crime rate is something to consider -Copperas Cove sits at 394.6 per 100K. Median household income is $68,900, which feels about average for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 37,149 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Minneapolis about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Midtown) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
