Working remotely from Copperas Cove

Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. Poverty rate is 6.2%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $68,900, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $167,900 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What would you do? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Used to live on the North side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Came here for work and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor recreation is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in consulting. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Old Town area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
