I'm a teacher here and It's a a smaller city city with about 41,527 people. Household incomes average around $107,159 in Coram. Rent is about $2,529/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Should I be concerned? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services.
