Moving to Corinth -what should I know?

Hi all, With a population of 14,450, Corinth is a small town. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 14,450 people. You can expect to pay around $638 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Thanks! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The weather is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 50, moved here 1 years ago from Boston. I've lived in South and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Limited shopping options
3. The safety situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for remote workers. tough vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Boston, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $100K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 5 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a sales manager and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is average and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
