Best neighborhoods to rent in Corning?

First post here. You can expect to pay around $976 for rent here. The median home value here is around $148,300, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 10,666, Corning is a small town. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Pros:
- Close to nature
- Diverse community
- Low taxes
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Limited dining options
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
What neighborhoods would you suggest? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I've lived in Lakewood for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The food scene scene is solid

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..
