Alright, The median home value here is around $148,300, which is actually reasonable. Household incomes average around $61,017 in Corning. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Anyone in a similar situation?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in legal. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The school system is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..
