Moving to Corning -what should I know?

First post here. Just moved here 11 months ago and You can expect to pay around $976 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Corning sits at 344.2 per 100K. Average temperature is around 45--F, so bundle up in winter. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Let me know your thoughts. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.
