The good and bad of living in Corning

Hi all, Rent is about $976/month for a decent place. With a population of 10,666, Corning is a small town. Homes are going for about $148,300 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Would love some local perspective. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community vibe is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..
