OK so Military spouse here. With a population of 159K, Corona is a mid-size city. Poverty rate is 7.5%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 63°F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $2,136/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 5 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..
