OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a writer, 46, moved here 12 years ago from Boston. I've lived in Lakewood and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**

3. Close to major attractions

Pros I've experienced:

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is better than expected.
