Thinking about relocating to Corpus Christi from Portland
Longtime lurker here, Would love some local perspective. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 14 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is average.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
