Worst things about Corpus Christi nobody talks about

Hello, I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider — Corpus Christi sits at 794.4 per 100K. Poverty rate is 13.1%, which is around average. Rent is about $1,230/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Maple Ridge area are improving. Kids love it here.
