OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The traffic scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Cedar Grove area are solid. Kids love it here.
