I'm originally from Omaha and The median home value here is around $226,700, which is actually reasonable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I overthinking this?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Oak Park. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much stable but now it's decent.
