Life in Corvallis as a young professional

First post here. Been living here since 2011. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $1,342 for rent here. Poverty rate is 10.1%, which is around average. It's a a smaller city city with about 60,424 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
