Unpopular opinion about Corvallis

Random thought, I'm originally from San Francisco and The unemployment rate is 4.9%, which is about average. With a population of 60,424, Corvallis is a smaller city. Median household income is $63,807, which feels about average for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Great weather
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited nightlife
- Not very walkable
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
