Not sure if this has been asked before, but Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 67--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Has anyone dealt with this? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The cost of living scene is solid
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in education. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Happy to answer more specific questions..
