Cottage Grove quality of life -am I missing something?

Hey folks, Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $121,452, which feels pretty solid for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I overthinking this? Any help is appreciated. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Seattle about 11 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Active local events and festivals
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
