Moving to Cottage Grove with kids -good idea?

I've been here for 9 years and Homes are going for about $359,600 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to.

I'm a lawyer and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is tough and there's always something going on.
