I grew up here but left for a while. Household incomes average around $121,452 in Cottage Grove. With a population of 40,124, Cottage Grove is a smaller city. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $359,600 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What are your go-to spots? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.
