So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Cottage Grove sits at 132.4 per 100K. With a population of 10,630, Cottage Grove is a small town. The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
