Is it worth buying in Cottonwood Heights?

Random thought, Median household income is $116,583, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $116,583 in Cottonwood Heights. Crime rate is something to consider -Cottonwood Heights sits at 158.0 per 100K. Homes are going for about $641,900 on average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Close to nature
- Easy commute
- Lots of new development
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- Not very walkable
- Lack of diversity
What do you all think? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 15 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
