First post here. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Let me know your thoughts. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Miami about 11 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is average.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

I'm a contractor and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is average and there's always something going on.
