Considering Country Club vs New York -help me decide
Homes are going for about $349,700 on average. Rent is about $1,752/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Bought a house here in 2017 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 12 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I've been here 12 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is solid.

Came here for family and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The safety is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
