I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for work and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The public transit is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from LA about 12 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in construction. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Indian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
