Job market in Covington for tech?

Hi all, I grew up here but left for a while. Median household income is $47,797, which feels on the lower side for the area. Household incomes average around $47,797 in Covington. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks in advance! The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in legal. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Highland) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much affordable but now it's tough.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely underrated and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Downtown) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
