Crime rate is something to consider -Covington sits at 1,439.2 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The food scene is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Raleigh about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.
