Is public transit usable in Cranston?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Military spouse here. The median home value here is around $348,800, which seems about average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Should I be concerned? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I'm a software engineer and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- The weather scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- The pet-friendliness scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. No regrets on my end..
