Moving from Salt Lake City to Cranston next month

OK so I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $1,332 for rent here. Household incomes average around $87,716 in Cranston. Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What would you do? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I work in construction here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is challenging. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Cedar Grove for 14 years. Moved from Denver for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Limited high-paying job options. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 7/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in East for 6 years. Moved from Boston for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Urban sprawl is real. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from San Diego about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is average.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The pet-friendliness is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 6 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
