I work in legal and The median home value here is around $134,100, which is actually reasonable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What are your go-to spots? Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 11 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
