Raising a family in Creston -thoughts?

Military spouse here. The median home value here is around $112,600, which is actually reasonable. It's a a small town city with about 7,466 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much established but now it's surprisingly good.
