Crestwood is underrated, change my mind

I relocated for work and The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Boston about 7 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is tough.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2019 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone about the same since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Korean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a teacher and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 2 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
