Hi all, Born and raised here. Household incomes average around $97,984 in Crete. Crime rate is something to consider -Crete sits at 234.7 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What would you do? The weather takes some getting used to.

I work in tech here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is tough. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2019 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 3 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
