We have two kids and Poverty rate is 6.5%, which is pretty low. With a population of 4,572, Creve Coeur is a small town. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Bought a house here in 2015 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I work in real estate here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The outdoor recreation is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a social worker, 56, moved here 12 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Westside and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The nightlife situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for young professionals. solid vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$120K here.
**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
