OK so Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $51,336, which feels on the lower side for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I'm a sales manager and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Dallas about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is average.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
