OK so Military spouse here. With a population of 29,878, Crofton is a smaller city. Rent is about $2,193/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $147,250 in Crofton. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Anyone in a similar situation? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Came here for school and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The safety is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 2 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
