So, We have two kids and Household incomes average around $75,260 in Crooked River Ranch. The unemployment rate is 4.7%, which is about average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What do you all think? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Boston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is decent.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- The traffic scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Midtown for 1 years. Moved from Nashville for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
tech is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Dating scene is rough. And traffic can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 7/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Phoenix it's underrated.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.
