Crookston quality of life -am I missing something?

Hi all, We have two kids and You can expect to pay around $827 for rent here. Homes are going for about $160,700 on average. It's a a small town city with about 7,388 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Growing food scene
- Good schools
- Low taxes
- Active local events

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Rising rent prices
- Boring for young people
- Limited cultural events
Is this normal for Crookston? Appreciate any input. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Houston it's solid.
