Couple moving to Crosspointe from out of state

First post here. It's a a small town city with about 5,632 people. Poverty rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. With a population of 5,632, Crosspointe is a small town. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Is this normal for Crosspointe? The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 15 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great Italian places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
